Wets and Dries/ Prohibition
Prohibition, was probably the most talked about subject in the 1920's and the law to most likely be broken. The people in favor of prohibition or the Dries, saw it as a good thing. They thought it kept people believing in their morals and made sure that less people died they thought it saved lives. Yet not everyone was in favor. The wets or the anti-prohibitionists were angered, But unlike the Prohibitionists or the dries, with this the crime increased and so did the number of bootleggers. Bootleggers were the people who would sell alcohol illegally. Most people would buy alcohol as a way of saying prohibition was wrong, and that alcohol should be legal. Some people said that the amount of alcohol consumed would help increase the economy. The dries thought that with alcohol people were more sexually active and disrespected their morals.
